Due To Popular Demand…
Well, RichyT asked for it, and it reminded me to do it! The excerpt you are about to experience was written when I was 11, as part of an in-school assignment. At the time, I was going through the massive RL Stine/Point Horror phase that I have mentioned previously. This particular tale tells of a monster, loosed in the bush, and a group of friends who encounter its ghastly presence. It’s a pretty long story, so I will provide an excerpt below. If demand for more is high, I’ll post another chunk later. Keep my audience hungry, I say! Any amusing punctuation errors I find, I will retain, and spelling errors also remain. Historical accuracy is, well, not accurate.
The Road
Prologue 1942
Janie Sommers opened the car door. She slammed the door shut and lifted the bonnet. A cloud of steam hit her in the face. Janie coughed and turned away. The steam cleared and Janie groaned, her radiator hose had burst. Here she was on a deserted road, with no extra radiator hose.
“Man!,” she mumbled, “I’ll have to wait till someone comes along.” Janie got back in her car and sat there waiting for someone to come along. She sighed impatiently. I knew I should’ve gone the long way she thought If I had I wouldn’t be stuck on this deserted road. I’ll probably starve to death out here. Janie pulled a book out of her purse and began to read. When she’d finished the book Janie looked at her watch. She’d been reading for 3 hours. No one’s come yet. I might as well commit suicide. She sat in the car and waited. It was getting dark outside. Her eyelids began to droop and she was soon fast asleep.
A noise stirred in the night. Janie’s eyes snapped open. She slowly turned around. There was complete silence. Nothing was there. Janie giggled nervously at herself. She turned around and looked at the clock. 3:00am. No-one had come. Janie closed her eyes. The noise sounded again. Janie swiftly spun around in her seat. Again there was nothing there. Suddenly a black arm crashed through the wind-screen. It grabbed Janie’s neck. She gasped for breath. She felt the creatures girp loosen on her throat and she fell to the ground (*authors note* When did she end up outside of the car??). Janie jumped up and rattled with the car door. She screamed and screamed. Finally the door opened. Janie collapsed into the creatures arms. She jumped back and screamed. She reached into the car and got out her bottle of perfume. The creature came closer. Janie screamed again and thre the perfume in its face. It howled in anger and covered his face. It looked up and Janie gasped. It had long sharp teeth. Its lip was curled in disgust and his red eyes flashed angrily. It grabbed Janie and bit her again and again. Janie cried out in pain and then dissolved in a puddle of blood.
The next day a Patrol Car came past. He stopped to look at Janie’s car, not knowing he’d come too late. Janie’s body lay on the ground. It was surrounded by her own blood and her body was covered in tiny, delicate teeth marks. The police man called the base and her body was taken to a local Morgue. This murder baffled scientists everywhere. Janie’s body was experimented with but no evidence was found.

Hahaahahahaaa, good story to put on the site. I like how her body dissolved but then solidified again, it truly is mysterious. No wonder scientists from all over the world were baffled, it must’ve been headline news.
However I think they’ve already turned your story into a movie. “The Road” was a little too plain so they renamed it “Jeepers Creepers”.

Hmm…I wonder if I can get them for stealing my idea! “The Road” was such a seminal piece in the re-emergence of top entertainment for young folk, it deserves so much more recognition.
